About the Center
Many students who come to Syracuse plan to enter careers in corporate law, business, or general practice. Programs, courses, and directed research in the Center for Law

and Business Enterprise provide such students comprehensive and professional training for careers in these fields.
The applied learning courses include simulated problems based on actual transactions to teach students to analyze employee/employer relations, international transactions, and corporate counsel issues. In addition to courses, students participate in either a skills seminar, clinic, or externship related to business or general practice. Some students choose to work in the Housing and Finance Clinic where they assist groups to become non-profit corporations, or individuals and non-profits to develop housing cooperatives. Others opt for the Bankruptcy Externship with bankruptcy judges. In addition, students in the Center for Law and Business Enterprise may focus their coursework to earn a certificate in one of the programs described below.
