Project Accessible Syracuse Workshop

Faculty, staff, students, leaders of local disability organization, and consumers will present to downtown Syracuse restaurant and cafe owners and members of the local business community on accessibility laws as they pertain to eating establishments. Project Accessible Syracuse seeks to increase inclusion of people with disabilities. During the past year, volunteers surveyed downtown restaurants and cafés to assess their accessibility. The survey findings will be published in A Guide to Accessible Dining Establishments in Downtown Syracuse. This event will report on the results of these surveys and provide information about the benefits of accessibility. Presenters will also dicsuss tax benefits available for renovations related to accessibility, and architectural design suggestions. Owners and operators of the surveyed restaurants are particularly encouraged to attend and to review and provide feedback on the draft of the Guide before it is printed. The workshop will take place at the Palace Theater on Thursday, April 5, 2007, at 1:00.
