What is happening is twofold: digital communications technology has made the world smaller, and attitudes toward free trade have changed significantly. This has brought on a global economy - and no business remains unaffected, for each must struggle to prosper amidst global competition. In this sense, I would advise all students to have as much familiarity with international law as possible."

Ms. Dembeck represented the American entertainment industry at the Uruguay Rounds, speaking for the needs of the private sector in negotiations with representatives of the private sector and governments in Europe, Japan, and other countries to arrive at agreements that would be favorable for the industry as a whole.
