In addition to the courses in the global law and practice curriculum, students can petition to receive Certificate credit for the following:
- Jessup International Moot Court Team, Vis International Commercial Arbitration team or Inter-American Human Rights team (1 credit per year).
- Syracuse Journal of Int'l Law & Commerce (1 credit for completing 2L work, and a second credit for senior executive board members).
- Graduate courses with international content in the Maxwell School (up to 6 credits, with the prior approval of the Center director).
- Summer study abroad programs (up to 6 credits for any of the College of Law programs or any ABA - approved program where the course of study is international and/or comparative law, with the prior approval of the Center director).
- College of Law-approved independent research on international or comparative law subjects (for instance, the Sierra Leone Project). However, credit for the National Security and Counter-Terrorism Research Center cannot be used to attain the GLAP certificate.

Note: First year courses such as International Law Firm or L&P: International Trade Law cannot be used to attain the GLAP certificate.
