Ashoka is the global association of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs—men and women with system changing solutions for the world’s most urgent social problems. Since 1981, Ashoka has elected over 2,000 leading social entrepreneurs as Ashoka Fellows, providing them with living stipends, professional support, and access to a global network of peers in more than 60 countries. With this global community, Ashoka develops models for collaboration and design infrastructure needed to advance the field of social entrepreneurship and the citizen sector.

Bruno Borges joined Ashoka's Law for All in June 2007. Working as the Global Manager for the Advocates for Social Entrepreneurs program, Bruno helps build relationships with law firms, law schools, and legal networks, facilitating pro bono legal assistance to Ashoka Fellows, working to strengthen both their work and the pro bono culture worldwide.

A Brazilian citizen, Bruno worked for 7 years as a lawyer in Brazil, and 5 of those years as a senior attorney with Advocacia J.R. Nogueira e Associados in Sao Paulo. Bruno developed and coordinated the firm’s pro bono program and served as the legal department manager of the Federation of Nonprofit Hospitals of Sao Paulo and the Labor Union of Nonprofit Hospitals of Sao Paulo. He holds a Master’s degree in Organization Development from Johns Hopkins University, and certificates in nonprofit law and nonprofit management from the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Sao Paulo and Johns Hopkins University.
