Individuals of demonstrated ability are invited to consider Syracuse University College of Law, which is proud of its talented and diverse student body. The class that entered in the fall of 2012 represents 143 colleges and universities and 33 states.
Of the 245 matriculated students, 39% were women and 20% were students of color. The College of Law recognizes the racial and gender imbalance that exists in the legal profession and the public interest in augmenting the number of lawyers from traditionally underrepresented groups in the profession. Therefore, the college encourages qualified members of these groups to apply for admission.

Campus West Apartments - New Law School Student Housing
State-of-the-art student housing is just one example of our on-going commitment to students through long-term improvements in our physical environment. The new spacious, fully-furnished apartments, that opened in 2012, are located just steps away from the law school. Amenities include: a fully-outfitted fitness center; washers, dryers and a full kitchen in each unit; all-inclusive utilities, including internet and cable TV; and a computer lab. Multiple floor-plans are available, ranging from studio apartments to units with four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

College of Law Teams Continue Outstanding Trial Competition Season
Coming on the heels of a Championship win at the National Civil Trial competition in November, the SU College of Law advocacy program teams continue to deliver impressive results in regional and national tournaments.
Most recently, the SU Team finished in the final four at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition Midwest Regional Rounds on Feb. 2-3. The team was awarded for their written submissions in the "Best Memorial" category, with third-year student, Shane Simon, winning in the "Best Oralist" Category. Other team members include Benjamin Frazzini Kendrick, Natalie Mitchell, Kevin MacLeod, and Tess Frame. The honors awarded to the team are much coveted marks of distinction, the Jessup Competition being the largest, and most prestigious moot court competition in the world.
“Recognition of our team’s writing ability is especially important as writing is an essential and fundamental skill for any attorney,” says Lucille M. Rignanese L’99, faculty director of the Moot Court Honor Society and Advocacy Program. “Our students have consistently performed exceptionally well in this area.”
In addition, SU finished 12th out of 196 teams from 150 law schools competing at the National Appellate Moot Court Competition held in January in New York City. Team members were Matthew Kranzthor, Jon Hoeven, and Stephanie Kelly, together with team alternate Alex Miller, and to Faculty Coach Professor Rick Risman, and Associate Coach Dominic D’Imperio L’09. Sponsored by the New York City Bar Association, the National Appellate Moot Court competition is the oldest running competition of its kind in the country and enjoys the largest number of participating law schools and competing teams.
