Nikki Laubenstein is the director of admissions and has worked in the College of Law Office of Admissions in various capacities since 1999. Prior to joining the College of Law, Ms. Laubenstein worked in the dean’s office of the School of Education. She earned her BA in Psychology from Bowling Green State University, and her MS and CAS in Counseling from Syracuse University. Ms. Laubenstein enjoys working directly with prospective law students and their families, and helping students to determine if Syracuse Law is the right fit for them. She oversees the coordination of the first year student orientation program, admitted student visitor programs, the law ambassador program, and admissions committee application and scholarship review. Leslie Becker is the assistant director of admissions. She joined the admissions team in November 2010. Prior to the College of Law, Ms. Becker worked as an assistant director of undergraduate admissions at Creighton University. She also circumnavigated the globe with Semester at Sea in 2009. Ms. Becker earned her masters degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and bachelors degrees in political science and public relations from Northern Arizona University. Dana Nowakowski is the recruitment coordinator at Syracuse University College of Law. She joined the admissions team in October 2009. Prior to her experience with the College of Law she worked in financial aid helping students manage their student loans. Ms. Nowakowski holds a BA in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing from Sacred Heart University, and is currently pursuing her MS in Higher Education from Syracuse University. Ms. Nowakowski enjoys helping prospective students with the admissions process and the transition into law school. Dorothy Lee serves as the admissions office assistant, joining the team in 1999. She is responsible for the management of prospective student inquiries and oversees the entry of recruitment and application data. Ms. Lee earned her BS in Mathematics from SUNY Buffalo. Prior to her work in graduate admissions, Ms. Lee worked for Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District Offices and for the City Hall Department of Engineering. She is an expert in maintaining the College of Law’s student database, is responsible for weekly reports, and assists in training student workers.

Gina Soliz has served as director of financial aid at Syracuse University College of Law since 1999. Active in financial aid for nearly 20 years, she has also worked at Le Moyne College (NY) and Nichols College (MA). Ms. Soliz is a member of the New York State Financial Aid Association, twice elected as an officer of the Executive Council. In 2009 and 2004 she was presented with service awards for her continuous support to the association. Ms. Soliz regularly serves on statewide, regional, and national conference committees and is a frequent presenter at industry conferences. Ms. Soliz holds a BA in English and an MS in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University. Michelle (Shelley) Lee is the Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Syracuse University College of Law, joining the team in early 2010. Ms. Lee has worked in Higher Education for several years, primarily in financial aid. She is especially passionate about students being financially literate and assisting them in making smart financial decisions during their tenure at the College of Law and beyond. Ms. Lee holds an AA from Cayuga Community College, a BS in Business Administration from LeMoyne College and is pursuing an MS in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University. Emily Messineo is the Financial Aid Coordinator at Syracuse University College of Law, joining the Admissions and Financial Aid team in early 2011. Ms. Messineo has worked in Higher Education for a number of years; primarily in Student Services. She is committed to assisting current and prospective Syracuse University law students with the financial aid process and ultimately helping them feel more confident in managing their financial aid. Ms. Messineo holds a BS in Family and Consumer Science from Montana State University and is pursuing an MS in Higher Education from Syracuse University.
