Biography:
Professor Germain specializes in taxation, commercial law and bankruptcy, and corporate law. He obtained his JD degree from the University of California Hastings College of Law in 1985. Following graduation, he worked for one year as an associate at Latham and Watkins in Los Angeles, and for fourteen years as an associate and then partner at Landels Ripley & Diamond in San Francisco. He returned to academics in 1999, obtaining an LLM degree in tax law from the University of Florida. Prior to coming to Syracuse University, Professor Germain spent nine months as an attorney advisor to The Honorable Renato Beghe of the United States Tax Court.
