After graduating from law school where he was an editor of the Texas Law Review, Professor Surratt served as a law clerk to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and taught at the law schools of Southern Methodist and Florida State universities. Before coming to Syracuse, he was in private practice with a leading firm in Dallas. His pro bono activities include representing plaintiffs in school desegregation litigation in Texas and presenting
testimony before committees of the New York State Legislature. He currently teaches in the areas of evidence, products liability, sports law, and contracts.
