Professor Kelder came to Syracuse following service on the law faculty at Cleveland State University. He was a Criminal Law Education and Research Fellow at New York University.
Professor Kelder has authored publications in the areas of criminal law and criminal procedure, and has frequently lectured in those areas to judges and attorneys. His teaches courses on the administration of criminal justice, constitutional criminal procedure, federal courts and
criminal law. Professor Kelder has represented both the defense and prosecution in his criminal law practice. Most recently, he has served as Chief Assistant District Attorney with the Onondaga County, New York, District Attorney's Office.
