The Reserves Room contains College of Law course Reserves, audio tapes, video tapes and frequently used library materials such as hornbooks and nutshells. Note that many faculty exams are available in electronic format. In general, if materials can be found on Westlaw, Lexis, or an online database, they will not be located on print Reserves. There is a photocopier conveniently located in the Reserves Room for quick copying.
To find an item, please consult our SUMMIT Catalog located across from the Circulation Desk. To view video tapes, please bring them to the Circulation Desk for check out. You will receive headphones and directions to the nearest available viewer. For more information about Reserves, please inquire at the Circulation Desk.
If you wish to remove items from the Reserves Room, please charge them out at the Circulation Desk with a valid Syracuse University or Environmental Science and Forestry ID.
Please do not shelve Reserve materials. Place materials on the labeled cart near the photocopier.
Loan periods for law students are as follows:
- Reserve items - two hours
- audio tapes - one week
- video tapes - two days
Reserve materials that are designated as "overnight" may be checked out two hours before closing and must be returned within the first hour of opening the next day.
Please return Reserve materials promptly so that others may use them. Library staff will be monitoring late returns using the automated circulation system.
IMPORTANT: The overdue fine for audio and videotapes is $1 per day per item, up to a maximum of $15 per item. If items are more than 40 days overdue, a replacement fee will be added.
