Students with Disabilities
Staff Assistance
The Barclay Law Library strives to meet the needs of all students, including those with disabilities. If you require assistance using Library materials, equipment or services, please let us know.Stacks and Elevator
If an item that you are interested in seeing is located on a shelf that is not within your reach, or if you are having trouble maneuvering through the stacks, a member of our Circulation staff, or a Reference Librarian, will be happy to retrieve the item for you: just let us know.Every floor of the Law Library is accessible without the use of stairs. To access Floor 4 via the elevator, take the elevator to Stack 3, go to the south end (opposite the elevator), and take the bridge across to Floor 4. For further directions and/or assistance, please ask at the Circulation or Reference Desk. For the benefit of patrons with visual impairments, our elevator controls are equipped with Braille lettering, and there is a sign on each door jamb identifying the floor.
Study Rooms
There are 7 small study rooms in the Law Library. If you need a space to work with a reader or a learning aid, please come to the Circulation Desk to reserve a room. Our group study rooms are extremely popular with students, so please be sure to plan ahead whenever possible.Adaptive Technology
Headsets for use with the Library computers are available at the Circulation Desk. The Law Library also has CCTV capabilities for viewing videos with closed captions.Restrooms
ADA compliant restrooms are located on the second floor of the Law Library. Please see a floor map, or ask a staff member for the exact location. There is also an ADA compliant restroom outside of the Law Library on the third floor of E.I. White Hall. Library staff would be happy to direct you to this as well.Parking
There are disabled parking spaces available in the Quad Parking lot for law students. You must contact the University’s Office of Parking & Transit Services for a permit to use these spaces.Syracuse University Parking & Transit Services
