MaryTeresa Soltis L'03

Maryteresa SoltisMARYTERESA SOLTIS earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Providence College in 2000. She earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law in 2003, where she was also inducted into the Order of the Coif. While at the College of Law, Ms. Soltis was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and the recipient of numerous oralist awards. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Upon graduation from the College of Law, Ms. Soltis served as a law clerk for the Honorable Ronald R. Lagueux of the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island. She then joined the Philadelphia office of Cozen O’Connor in September 2004, where she had also participated in the firm’s summer associate program. Ms. Soltis is now a Member in Cozen’s General Litigation Department. Her practice focuses on product liability and complex torts, and Ms. Soltis handles various types of matters, including those related to aviation, dram shop, and premises liability.

Ms. Soltis has written and spoken on a variety of topics including the investigation and litigation of dram shop claims, the importance of documentation in defending dram shop and construction claims, defending product liability cases, defending food-related and other mass tort litigation, understanding insurance fraud, and the General Aviation Revitalization Act.

In 2007 and again in 2008, Ms. Soltis was named to the Pro Bono Roll of Honor of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania, which recognizes attorneys who have provided pro bono services to litigants in the Philadelphia Courts. In addition to her law practice, she serves on the Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra and plays the flute and piccolo in the Chester County Concert Band.
