Muslim Law Students Association (MLSA)

The Muslim Law Students Association promotes understanding and appreciation of both the general Islamic world and the Legal Islamic world by sponsoring events that:

  1. Educate the legal community about the textual sources, historical development, and evolution of Islamic Law;

  2. Explain the theoretical foundations and methodologies employed by various schools of Islamic legal thought;

  3. Present the Islamic perspective on contemporary legal debates as well as issues of universal concern;

  4. Discuss the applications of Islamic law in the lives of Western Muslims, and familiarize the legal community about the needs and concerns of American Muslims in particular.

The Muslim Law Students Association invites all interested students and faculty to join today.
